Step #1: Remove your foot boards with alan wrench and 7/16 end wrench Step #2: Remove your existing brackets one at a time and replace with new corresponding bracket re-using the original hardware (Do not tighten yet, leave loose). (remove one bracket then install one bracket, this keeps the hardware easy to relocate in its original position). Step #3: Install any extended brake and shifter levers at this time. (sold seperately from other vendors) Step #4: install foot boards onto new brackets and loosely attach with original hardware. Step #5: once the foot boards are installed, tighten the footboard mounting bolts first, then tighten the bracket to frame mounting bolts. Enjoy the extra foot room and more ergonomic leg position. As with any modifications to your bike, use caution until you are comfortable with the new setup! And if you are pleased with the new riding position, please show them off to your friends! ULTRA MODELS – If you are installing these brackets on an ultra classic model with fairing lowers on the engine guard or crash bar, you will either have to modify the fairing lower by carefully trimming the plastic to clear the front brackets or remove the fairing lowers entirely. If you do not feel confident you may wish to consult a professional shop for installation. ONLINE DETAILED INSTALLATION WITH PHOTOS AT WWW.WILDBILLSCYCLES.COM/PHOTOINSTALL.HTML Tip – We prefer “Soft brake” for the extended brake, and either “KuryAkyn” or “Bubba’s Brakes” for the shift lever. At least a 2” extension on both, but longer is also nice. On newer models it may not be necessary to replace the stock brake or shifter levers as they are a nice fit with the extension. Tip- Want Chrome? Brown’s plating Service in Kentucky does extremely nice work with their polishing and plating, and they have a 10 day turn around time in most cases.
